Memorial services for Lulu J. Bauersachs, age 91, of Crawford will be Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the ChristCommunityChurch in Crawford with Pastor Bill Bagley officiating.
Burial will be at the CrawfordCemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Crawford Volunteer Fire Department or the CrawfordSeniorCenter. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Lulu J. Bauersachs, age 91, of Crawford, died on April 12, 2011 at her home in Crawford. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Christ Community Church in Crawford with Pastor Bill Bagley officiating. Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery.
Lulu was born on Easter Sunday, April 4, 1920, to Louise and Earl Beverage in Crawford. She was raised ten miles southeast of Crawford on the family farm, where she worked along side her parents and sister, Doris. She went to school at Glen and graduated out of Crawford.
On October 30, 1940, she married Bob Bauersachs. To this union, three children were born, two girls, Pauline who died at birth, and Harriet who was stricken with polio and passed away at the age of 6, and a son, Steve. She worked the farm alongside her husband, Bob, until his death on January 15, 1976. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for her family.
Lulu worked many jobs in Crawford. She worked at the Crawford Bakery, the telephone office for several years, the Panhandle Coop for many years and Pine Ridge Service Center until she retired in 1985. After she retired, she continued doing book keeping services for the Senior Center and taxes for family and friends.
In later years, her son Steve took over the farming where she continued helping with piling and baling hay. She raised and cherished her flock of sheep for many years. She would load them in the back of Volkswagon Pickup and go to the market. Lulu was also a person who let you know what was on her mind, even if you didn’t want to hear it.
Lulu always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and just being with her family. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. She always believed the Lord led her through life and was watching over her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, two daughters, Pauline and Harriet, and her parents.

Son Steve Bauersachs of Crawford, NE.
Granddaughter: Bobbie Jo and husband Todd of Cheyenne, WY.
Great-Grandsons: 2
Sister: Doris
Numerous nieces and nephews
Extended family Trisha, Shauna and family, and Josh Gortsema.
Chamberlain Chapel of Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
