Funeral Services for Madelyn Rose Little Whiteman, age 66, of Kyle SD
will be Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Reverend Cordelia Red Owl officiating.
A two night wake will begin at Noon on Saturday, April 30th at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Hall in Kyle, SD.
Burial will be at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD.

Husband: Everett Little Whiteman of Kyle, SD.
Children: Vincent of Rockyford SD; Gregory of Wendover, NV; Christopher of Ft. Duchesne, UT; Edward of Cottonwood, AZ; Madeline Joan of Chadron, NE.
Brothers: James Fast Horse of Pine Ridge, SD; Everett Fast Horse of AZ.
Half brothers & Sisters: Carla Apple of Kyle, SD; John Apple and Cecil Apple, Sr. both of Pine Ridge, SD.

Madelyn Rose Little Whiteman, age 67 of Kyle, SD made her journey to the Spirit World on Sunday, April 24, 2011 after a brief hospitalization at the Rapid City Regional Hospital with her husband and family members at her side.
Madelyn Rose Fast Horse was born on July 8, 1944 to Edith Two Crow and Vincent Fast Horse. Madelyn resided in Kyle, SD for most of her early days as her father, Vincent was killed during World War II in 1945. Her mother, Edith passed away in 1981. Madelyn attended schools in Kyle, Rapid City, and Marty Mission until her marriage. Madelyn met her husband, Everett Little Whiteman of Kyle in 1962 when both returned home for summer vacation from school and the following year, became engaged and married on August 15, 1963. Madelyn became the mother to five beautiful children, Vincent of Rockyford, SD, Gregory of Wendover, Nevada, Christopher of Fort Duchesne, Utah, Edward of Cottonwood, AZ, and Madeline Joan of Chadron, NE. Madelyn decided to be a homemaker and followed her husband to various locations while he served in law enforcement for the Bureau of Indian Affairs to Oregon, Arizona, Montana, Utah, and returning to Arizona where the family resided until retirement from federal service in 1995. Madelyn and Everett remained in Arizona where he served as a Chief of Police for the Apache Tribes until returning home to the Pine Ridge Reservation in 2008. Madelyn was a homemaker during her married life but liked activities as bowling in leagues and traveling to bowling tournaments in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Montana.
Her other loves includes being an Artist and a Crafts person but did her crafts only for her close friends and did not wish to enter into crafts for money. Her Craft works included Quilts with special designs, ribbon shirts for certain people which was published in the Native Peoples Magazine, pillows with special designs which she donated to various organizations for fund raising and to special friends.
