Crystal Rose Cottier Eagle Elk began her journey on May 7, 2011. Crystal was loved by many and will be remembered for her caring and compassionate heart. She helped everyone she could and was always willing to do what she could for the many tribal members, friends, relatives, and those in need whether they were related to her or not. Her heart was with the people of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and she had their best interests at heart. She was judged by many but she stood strong on her beliefs, her passion was to make this tribe as strong as possible and able to sustain the heard ships to continue to go through. She served as a member of the Pine Ridge School Board for 12 years, she worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the OST Construction and Transportation Construction. She worked for the tribes Financial Accounting Office for 17 years. She served as the Treasurer of the Oglala Sioux Tribe 3 terms and one term as Co-Treasurer.

She enjoyed bowling in her younger days and bowled on various bowling leagues, she enjoyed playing bingo but most of all her love was Prairie Wind Casino. She loved to just be able to go to supper and play slot machines. She enjoyed seeing everyone there and visiting with them.
