A Gathering of Remembrance for Jerry D. Jones, 79, of Yellville, Arkansas will be Friday, May 20, 2011 from 6:00- 8:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home Chapel in Yellville, Arkansas.
Private interment will be in Nebraska at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Marion County First Responders or Humane Society of Marion County.
Jerry D. Jones, 79, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born June 22, 1931 in Hastings, Nebraska to David and Mae (Bourne) Jones. He had been middle school principal in Chadron, Nebraska for 23 years. He moved to the area in 1983.
In Chadron, Nebraska he was active in Boy Scouts, Rotary, and booster clubs for the Cardinals and the Eagles. While in Marion County, Jerry established a furniture restoration business called “The Woodshed”. He served several terms on the Yellville City Council, and was a member of the Yellville Lions Club. He was an avid Denver Broncos, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He loved to collect old cars.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene.

Sons: Bruce Jones, and wife, Christine, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Doug Jones and wife, Deborah, of Elgin, Nebraska; Kevin Jones and wife, Kelly, of Chadron, Nebraska.
Daughters: Rae Ellen Jones of Bisbee, Nebraska; Mardi Whitley and husband, James, Omaha, Nebraska; Dawn Moffet and husband Mike of Yellville, Arkansas; Tara Gray of Diamond City, Arkansas; Lark Bear, and husband, Troy of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Brothers: Daniel Paris and wife, Bootsie, of California; Darrell Paris and wife, Cindy, of Alaska.
Sisters: Beverly Annis and husband, Glen, of California; Greta Ray and husband, Robert of California; Patsy Ulen of Alaska; Betty Holt and husband, Russell, of California.
Grandchildren: 14
Great-Grandchildren: 11 Burns Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
