Memorial services for Casey Joseph Brost, age 52, of Hemingford will be Friday, May 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father James Heithoff officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Volunteer Firefighters Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Casey Joseph Brost, 52 died Sunday, May 22 at his home north of Hemingford.
He was born September 23, 1958 in Alliance to Fred D. and Marjorie (Tschacher) Brost.
Casey graduated from Hemingford High School in 1976 and then attended Chadron State College studying agriculture.
He married Jerri L. Alvarado on May 18, 1979.
Casey was a lifetime area rancher on the family’s ranch. He also worked for Wal-Mart in Chadron for 10 years. He was devoted to his grandchildren and loved spending time with them and going fishing. He loved his family home and the 4th of July gatherings there at the “Trees,” his Angus cattle, his animals, especially Odie, his dog and helping his daughters when they were involved with 4-H. He was a fan of Nebraska Cornhusker and CSC football, the Colorado Rockies and soccer. Casey’s favorite quotes consist of “Life is hard, it’s harder if you’re stupid.” by John Wayne, and “Hustle. Loyalty. Respect.”
He was preceded in death by his father.

Brothers: Mike (Connie) Brost of Mills, WY; Tim (Renita) Brost of Gering, NE; Pat (Patrice) Brost of Kearney, NE; Dan (Diana) Brost of Mullen, NE.
