07/15/2011 - Rollin Holton
Rollin Holton, 65, of Chadron, died on Monday, June 20, 2011 at his home in Chadron.
Rollin was born on April 11, 1946 in Whittier, California to Rollin Hood Holton and Mary Lee Palmer. He was educated in Southern California and during his high school years, excelled and competed in water polo and on the high dive.
In January of 2000, he met and became life partners with Carol Koski. They lived in Huntington Beach, California and started a business specializing in hemp reinforced skateboard decks and manufacturing hemp sail boats. In 2002, they moved to Chadron, Nebraska, bringing with them all of the equipment necessary to continue their business.
Interests took Rollin in another direction. Carol and Rollin purchased 25 acres of Slim Buttes Road, turning a 100-year old farm home into a healing center. Even though the center has not yet been completed, his wife intends to carry on with their dream and vision.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Koski of Chadron, two sons; Rollin Lee Holton of Costa Mesa, California, and Todd Russ of Corona, California; his sister Trina of Upland, California, grandchildren and nieces.
A Native American ceremony is planned for July. The family suggests memorials to the Medicine Wheel Healing Community. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
