Funeral services for Leo J. "Toad" Frohman, age 83 will be Thursday, July 7 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Father Lou Nollette officiating.
Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.
Wake services will be Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM -5:00 PM at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home and at the wake service.
Memorials may be sent in care of the family at 208 East 6th Street, Alliance, NE 69301.

Leo J. "Toad" Frohman died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Box Butte General Hospital.
He was born June 1, 1928 at Gordon, Nebraska, the second of 10 children, to Leland and E. and Opal G. (Harris) Frohman.
On January 26, 1952 he married his best friend and lifelong partner, Mary Moss in Chadron, NE. Four children were born to this union, Terry, Larry, Mona and Rhonda. They were married for 52 years when Mary passed away in June 2004.
He grew up tending to cattle, horses and moving houses on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Throughout his life Toad has always been a prominent businessman starting with a little bar in Whiteclay, NE. They then moved to a farm in Whitney, then on to Alliance in 1963 when he bought a Storz beer wholesale distributorship which he owned until 1978. He then worked for Railcar maintenance for a short time. In 1981 he bought the Tamarack Lounge which was soon turned into Toad's Lounge. He and Mary operated that business until 1999 at which time he moved into semi-retirement and his lifelong passion of cattle and horses.
Toad was always active in the community. He enjoyed helping the Chamber of Commerce and the Little Britches Rodeo, and was still active with the rodeo. In 2004, Toad pulled together with his children and Toadstock Labor Day Concert was started and is still presently going. He had sold his cattle but still had his 2 horses and still going strong. At age 83 he could run circles around most of us. Toad never knew a stranger and was always lending a hand or an ear to anyone. In the winter you would find Toad snow plowing the neighborhood. If you moved in he was usually the first to meet and greet you.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and soul mate, Mary, his son, Larry, grandson, Tanner Henson, great-grandson, Tyler and great-granddaughter, Stacey, his parents, his 3 brothers, Merle, Wayne and Francis, his 4 sisters, Dora Root, Lila Buresh, Twila and Clara Bell Frohman, his wife's parents, Lloyd and Avalena Moss,.

Son: Terry (Deb) Frohman of Azle, TX.
Daughter: Mona (Mike) Vallejo of Alliance, NE; Rhonda (Chuck) Hamm of Alliance, NE.
Grandchildren: 9
Great-Grandchildren: 8 Sisters: Dorothy (Rick) Hart of Hot Springs, SD; Betty (Richard) Edelman of Danville, CA. Sister-in-law: Donna Dunn of Everett, WA.
