Memorial Services for Dorothy Marion (Fugate) Alles, age 88, will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 9:00 AM at the First Congregational Church Chadron, NE.
Dorothy Marion (Fugate) Alles passed away on March 3, 2011 at Northern Colorado Medical Inst. in Greeley, CO just 4 days shy of her 88th birthday.
Dorothy's wishes upon her passing were to be cremated and placed to rest near her Father and Mother at Floral Lawns Cemetery in North Platte, NE.
This will be on the same day, Saturday, August 6th at 6:00 PM.
Born to Arthur Earl and Violet Elvina (Spangler) Fugate on March 7th 1923, in a sod house in Ellsworth, NE. Dorothy attended school through 8th grade and then remained home to help her Mom and Dad. She moved to Greeley, CO in 1946, where she met and married Willard James Alles and she had 3 children. They were divorced in 1952 and not long after then moved to North Platte, NE to live with her parents and helped on their farm, while working with her sister Gertie at Chef LaLonnes Buffet. She then went on to manage the North Platte Country Club and moved her family there. She moved her family back to Greeley in 1966, working with a longtime friend A.F.Ray, being as she always said a jack-of-all-trades. Later she took over running The Blue Willow Steak House and Lounge. She moved to Crawford, NE in 1981 to live around her sister Barb and family, enjoying their family activities and antiquing with Barb and Keith. Then went on to work at Fort Robinson as the Head of House Keeping. She retired from there at the age of 80, but continued working in Barb's Antique Store and Ice Cream Parlor.
Eventually slowing down, she had knee surgery and recovered at home with her loving dog Mandy.
While living with her son and family in Greeley, she sustained a fracture on Feb. 19th. Due to her age she was unable to recover after the surgery and joined her loving lord and her loved ones in heaven.
She will be remembered and missed by: 1 sister: Barb (Keith) Pelton-Nixon Crawford, 2 sons: James (Ruth) of Greeley, Robert of SanDiego, CA, 1 daughter: Debbra (Patrick) Heeney of Madison, SD, 8 grandchildren: Chuck Darnold of New York, Stacy (Mike) Finnigan “Dardnold” of Arizona, Kristen (Eric) Flynn "Alles" (Ashton, Madison, Morgan) of Eaton, CO Brian (Sara) Alles (Eli) of Evans CO, Michael (Erin) Heeney (Colin) of Tea, SD, Sean (Molly) Heeney (Brooklyn ,Kyla, Jordan )of Tea, SD, Anthony Heeney, Sioux Falls, SD, "her appt. Grandson" Ben Heeney of Madison, SD , 5 Great Grandchildren and Many Nieces & Nephews, Great & Plural.
Reunited in heaven with: Parents: Aurthur and Violet, 3 Brothers: Aurthur Jr. ”Archie”, Robert, Buster “Bus” and 3 Sisters: Arlene, Doris, and Gertrude.
