08/18/2011 - Cody Emiel Raben

On Saturday, August 13, 2011, Cody Emiel Raben, left this world to walk with God. Funeral services are Thursday August 18, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crawford, Nebraska with Pastor Greg Sonnenschein officiating. Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery.

Cody was born on February 2, 1973 in Newcastle, Wyoming to Emiel Andrew Raben and Laura Dee (Goode) Raben. As a young boy he spent happy days on his grandparents, Bud and Evelyn Raben’s ranch in Sioux County. He worked in grandma's garden and helped grandpa with the cows, fences, fixing things, teaching the cats to take a bath, and learning that dogs take baths but cats don't. Cody attended and graduated from Crawford High School. He played football and basketball. High school was where Cody met and cherished life long friendships. He attended and earned a degree in auto body repair from WyoTec in Laramie, Wyoming.

Cody worked construction, landscaping, and in the energy field of Wyoming. Landscaping was by far his favorite profession. In Sheridan, Wyoming he met and married Wendy Watson. To this union two children were born, Sadie Anne Watson and Levi Andrew Raben. Cody was a loving son and grandson but most of all a loving and devoted father. Cody's most cherished of us all were Sadie and Levi. He was devoted to them to the end.

He leaves behind to mourn; Parents Emiel and Vicki Raben of Crawford, Laura Goode of Newcastle, Wyoming; Paternal Grandma Evelyn Raben, Maternal Grandparents Harvey and Mimi Goode of Newcastle, Paternal Uncle and Aunt Brent and Sandie Raben, Paternal Aunt and Uncle Brenda (Raben) Roberts and Roger. Preceded in death by: Paternal grandpa Clarence "Bud" Raben and Maternal Aunt April Goode.
