Funeral Services for William “Shang” Pershing High Hawk, age 73, of Pine Ridge, SD will be Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Father Bill Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD.

A one night wake will begin Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Father Bill Pauly Hall in Porcupine, SD.

Traditional Lakota Services provided by Mr. Emerson Spider, Jr. and Mr. Sandor Iron Rope.

Burial will be at St. Luke’s Episcopal Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.

William Pershing “Shang” High Hawk 73, journeyed to the Spirit World on September 3, 2011 in Pine Ridge, SD. He was the first child in the union of William High Hawk and Mary Looks Twice, he was born on November 17, 1937. He attended Holy Rosary eventually servicing the community of Porcupine as a Head Start Bus Driver for several years.

Throughout his life, Pershing enjoyed many activities including singing with his brothers, the Lone Eagle Singers, attending Rodeos, playing the guitar, horse shoes, and cars, known to many as “Uncle Shang” he will be missed by many.
