Memorial services for Ron Eckdahl will be Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Chadron Christian Church with Pastor Don Ludwick officiating.
Ronald Dale Eckdahl of Chadron, Nebraska, lost his battle with cancer on December 18, 2011. He died in his own home surrounded by his loving family members.
He was born on October 27, 1936 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. When he was nine years old his family moved to Scottsbluff. At age 17, he joined the Navy for four years, spending much of his time on the U.S.S. Forrestal. He moved to Denver, Colorado in 1962 and worked primarily in sales until his retirement in 2006. Immediately following his retirement his dream was to return to western Nebraska. He and his wife, Lynda, have resided in Chadron, Nebraska for the past six years.
Ron loved golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards with friends, taking walks in the outdoors, camping, taking drives with Lynda and watching the sunsets.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Evelyn Eckdahl.
He is survived by wife, Lynda, his siblings, Arthur Eckdahl, Denny (Mary) Eckdahl, Patricia Ekdahl and Jana Ekdahl, daughter Jennifer (Craig) Paschal of Mancos, Colorado, and son, Dan (Monica) Eckdahl of Parker, Colorado, grandchildren Andie and Ro Paschal of Mancos, Colorado and Sam and John Eckdahl of Parker, Colorado. A memorial service for family members will be held at a later date.
