Duane Jacobsen, 57 died December 16, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center while awaiting a kidney and liver transplant.
Harry Duane Jacobsen was born on August 14, 1954 in Visalia, CA to Harry and Norene (Hanlon) Jacobsen, and passed from this life on December 16, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center while awaiting a kidney and liver transplant
Duane grew up at Gates, Nebraska in Custer County. He attended Gates Grade School and graduated from Sargent High School in 1972. He attended the University of NE Lincoln before moving to Dawes County. Duane spent many hours working the family farm and thoroughly enjoyed any project that included driving equipment.
His survivors include:
Wife, Sherie, daughter Erin (Joe) Roberts of Vine Grove, Kentucky , three granddaughters, Molly, Jolee and Emma, His father Harry Jacobsen and stepmother Doris of Chadron, NE, sister Cindi (Cody) Brinton and nieces Stephannie (Derek) Teini and daughters Kendall and Brinley of Laramie, WY, Amber Brinton and daughter, Hailee of Jackson, WY and McKenna Brinton of Jackson, WY and Jaci (Cameron) Cuttlers and Calon of Chadron, NE and numerous other nieces, nephews, in-laws , family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norene and niece Shandi.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family asks that any memorial gifts be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or the University of Nebraska – Omaha Medical Center, Transplant Center.
Memorial services will be Friday, December 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance. Father Lou Nollette will officiate. Wake services will be Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church.
