Funeral services for Francis “Poncho” Martin, age 68, of Slim Buttes, SD will be Friday, June 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Steve Sanford, S.J. and Sister Barb with officiating.
Wake services will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.
Burial will be at the Francis Martin Cemetery in Slim Buttes, SD.
Francis “Poncho” Martin was born on June 14, 1943 in Slim Buttes, SD to Sam, Sr. and Elizabeth (Returns From Scout) Martin. Francis attended the Pine Ridge High School and after graduating Francis entered the U.S. Army from 1964 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1967. Francis was also an Iron Worker in Wyoming until him and his wife, Arlene, moved back to Pine Ridge, SD where they have resided until his passing.

Special Granddaughter: Martina Mesteth
Special Grandchildren: Brandon Shangreau, Dale Martin, Jr., Melind Ghost
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren
Adopted Son: Hobert Yankton of Manderson, SD
Siblings: Carmel Vegas, Lema Martin, Mary Martin, Tony, Darrell, Chris, Manuel, and Dave Martin, and Kenneth Returns.
