Memorial services for Jack King, age 71, of Rushville, Nebraska will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Rushville with Pastor Fred Andersen officiating.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
A luncheon will be held at the Methodist Church immediately following the service.
Jack passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Chadron Community Hospital. Jack was born on January 7, 1941 in Rushville, Nebraska to Claud and Addis King. He and his identical twin Dennis and younger brother Tom were raised on the family farm west of Rushville.
After graduating from Rushville High in 1958, he left home to go to Auto body tech school. After completing tech school, he came back home and married his High School sweetheart, Elaine Wortman of Rushville in 1963. They had two sons together before Elaine was killed in a car accident in 1967.
Jack worked many different jobs throughout the years but most enjoyed farm and ranch work. He especially liked doing things with his kids and grandkids, going to great lengths to get to know them and spend time with them individually.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Claud King; Brother, Thomas King; and Wife, Elaine King.
Immediate Survivors:
Mother: Addis (DeeDee) King of Rushville, NE.
Brother: Dennis (Leah) King of Alliance, NE.
Sons: Scott and Jay King, both of Chadron, NE; JD Richey of Johnston, CO.
Nieces: 3
Nephew: 1 Grandchildren: 12 Great Grandchildren: 5 Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Widger, Jered Kearns, Nicholas King, Joe King, James King, and Tristan King.
A memorial has been established. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.
