Funeral services for Ronald Burton Bad Milk, age 69, of Scottsbluff, NE will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Mr. Charles McGaa officiating.
A one night wake service will be Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD.
Rosary Service will be Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 6:00 PM.
Burial will be at the Bad Milk Family Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
Ronald Burton Bad Milk, age 69 passed away on June 29, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
Ronald is survived by his special friend, Flora Yellow Boy of Scottsbluff, NE; brothers, Howard “Babe” Bad Milk of Pine Ridge, SD and Richard “Dick” Bad Milk of St. Francis, SD; sister, Jo Ann Testerman of Patterson, CA; sons, Bruce Bad Milk of Pine Ridge, SD and Scott Bad Milk of Colorado Springs, CO; and two adopted daughters, Missy and Dawn Wolfe of Rapid City, SD.
Ron entered this world on May 5, 1943 in Alliance, NE. The early years of Ron’s life were spent at Black Hills Ordinance Depot in Igloo, SD. At an early age, Ron attended school at Holy Rosary Mission where he participated in football, basketball, and track. Ron earned his “R” letter in these sports. Ron left school in his last year to join the Navy where he served aboard the USS Passumpsic. Ron was honorably discharged on March 10, 1966. During his service, Ron served one tour in Vietnam where he was a gunner on a patrol boat that patrolled the MeKong Delta. Ron volunteered for many dangerous missions into the Delta to rescue his fellow soldiers who were in trouble. After he left the Navy, Ron became an iron worker and worked on many of the off short oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Ron also worked on skyscrapers around the Dallas Fort Worth area for many years until he got the calling to be closer to home. Ron started working with a roofing company in Scottsbluff, NE called Wealth Craft, he worked for them about 15 years until Ron suffered a heart attack and forced him into retirement. During Ron’s employment at Wealth Craft, Ron was made the foreman of his own truck and roofing crew; Ron did a lot of roofing throughout Nebraska, Wyoming, and North and South Dakota. He was known for his quality work.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Charles; mother, Marjorie; sister, Beverly Ann, and Grandmother Gramma Janis.
Ron’s family is profoundly grateful to the staff at the Golden Living Hospice Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
