07/25/2012 - John Eugene Grantham- Notice
John Eugene Grantham was born Oct 11, 1956, in Chadron, NE, to Milton and Leola Grantham. He passed away July 21, 2012, in Scottsbluff Medical Center, Scottsbluff, NE.
Gene attended Chadron Elementary and Middle School. Following completion of his high school work, Gene worked at the Chuck Wagon restaurant, and for the saw mill. He worked for Burlington Northern from summer 1976 until the railroad merged with the Santa Fe. Gene was a skilled carpenter. After living in Florida and Nevada and working as a facility manager, he returned to Chadron to care for his parents until they passed away. Gene then moved to Scottsbluff to manage a feed store and for a short time he supervised loading the sugar beet trucks. Gene married Traci Jancik to which one son, Nathan, was born. Gene and his second wife, Phyllis, had one daughter, Becky, and a step daughter, Shannon. Immediate Survivors: Brothers: Charles Lynn of Lincoln, NE; Wayne of Covington, WA.
Cousin: Tom Manning of Black Hawk, SD, who lived with Milton and Leola from fifth grade forward.
Numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
