Graveside services for Marvin Robert Hanks, 82, who passed away in Carencro, Louisiana on January 2, 2014, will be at a later date in Chadron, Nebraska.
Marvin was born to Vera Kusel Hanks and Henry Hanks on August 31, 1931 and was a native of the Whitney/Chadron area all his life with the exception of his last two years of life when he resided in Louisiana with his daughter and family. He was married to Susan Hanks until her death in 1989. Together they had two surviving children, Jeff Hanks of Debary, Florida and Jenifer Ibach of Carencro, Louisiana. Marvin retired from Chicago Northwestern Railroad after 30 years of work and also served in the National Guard. He has five grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler and Jared Hanks, all of Debary, Florida, Samantha Cavanaugh of Scott, Louisiana and Kayla Ibach of Carencro, Louisiana.
