Matilda (Tillie) Marie Wollesen passed away on June 16, 2014, at the age of 95 at Crestview Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska. She was born in Creighton, South Dakota on November 9, 1918. Tillie was the 5th of 10 children born to Dick and Anna (Hamann) Busskohl. The family lived in Wall, South Dakota for several years and then moved to Dewey, South Dakota in Custer County where the 10th child was born.
Leland and Tillie were married on December 26, 1936. Together they lived on the family farm/ranch east of Chadron, Nebraska until Leland’s death. Tillie remained on the home place until the end of April 2013. Tillie was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran, active on the kitchen committee when it was built and remodeled. She loved to quilt and joined the quilting ladies in the church fellowship hall every third Wednesday up until she had her stroke at the end of April. She crocheted many angels, snowflakes, and made delicious rolls and lunches for church food sales. She was often indemand for her butter cream mints for many wedding receptions. The past 14 months she resided at Crestview Care Center in Chadron.
