Funeral Services for Ivan Merl Gibbons, Sr., age 57, of Martin, SD, will be Tuesday, September 16, 2014 2:00 PM at the Allen CAP Office in Allen, SD. with Reverend Cordelia Red Owl & Reverend Craig West officiating.
Burial will be Waters Family Cemetery in Allen, SD
A two night wake services will be Sunday, September 14, 2014 starting at 1:00 PM, at the Allen CAP Office in Allen, SD.
Ivan Merl Gibbons, Sr. was born on June 25, 1957 in Pine Ridge, SD to Charles Gibbons and LaVonne Lays Hard. At the age of 2, Ivan was adopted by Lewis and Marjorie Thompson and whom resided in Gordon, NE. Ivan passed away on September 10, 2014 in Martin, SD.
Immediate Survivors:
Sons: Ivan Gibbons, Jr., Bryce Gibbons, and Brian Gibbons all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Isaac Gibbons of Rapid City, SD
Daughters: LaVonne Peterson, Kimberly Marshall, and LaTasha Gibbons all of Rapid City, SD; Bille Jean Gibbons of Wanblee, SD.
Brother: John Thompson of Clay Center, KS
Grandchildren: 23
Great Grandchildren: 4
Ivan was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Lewis and Marjorie Thompson; biological parents, Charles Gibbons and LaVonne Lays Hard; and grandmother, Cora Lays Hard-Galligo.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements.
