Funeral Services for Marietta R. Price, age 99, of Chadron, will be at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.

Marietta R. Price was born on August 18, 1915 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Olive Smith Donahue. Her father, E. Donohue, died before she was born. She died at Crestview Care Center in Chadron, Nebraska on September 18, 2014. Her mother remarried and Marietta was adopted by John B. Reese at a very young age. She had one step brother, Harley. Their home was in Kansas City, MO, where Marietta graduated from Westport High School in 1932.
She attended Baker Methodist University in Baldwin, KS and graduated with a BS degree in 1936. She was a life member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She met Glenn Price Sr., a chemical engineer at Baldwin University and they married in 1937.
The moved to New York City, lived on Staten Island, where Glenn worked for American Starch Company and Marietta worked as a med tech for several doctors in NYC, riding the Staten Island Ferry to and from work.
From New York City, Glenn’s work took them to Boston, MA. Glenn Sr., who had been chosen one of twenty students at the university of Kansas flight school, enlisted in the US Navy and became a flight instructor at the beginning of WWII. Glenn Jr. was born in December 1941 in Boston and Marietta and 10 month old Glenn Jr. flew back to Kansas City in a DC 3 with military personnel to be with family during the war.
Two more sons joined the family, John Robert and Willard Wayne. The family resided near Bonner Springs, Kansas after the war where the three boys grew up, attended Baker University, University of Kansas and University of Missouri.
Marietta worked for several physicians in Kansas City, Missouri and Bonner Springs, KS as a med and x-ray tech. She was active in her church, chairing the women’s groups at both church and her extension club.
After retirement she and Glenn Sr. were snowbirds for years, spending the winter months in southern Texas where they finally became year round residents until Glenn Sr. died in 1999. Marietta remained in their home for several years until she moved to Chadron to the Prairie Pines Retirement Lodge in 2004. She was delighted to find her home church in Chadron, First Congregational UCC of which she was a member.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Sr., her parents and step brother.

Sons and their wives: Glenn (Freden) of Chadron, John (Ruby) of Tucson, AZ and Bill (Cindy) of Rio Vista, CA.

Great-Great Grandchildren: 2
She lived at Prairie Pines until her death.
