Geraldine R. Jackson (Hollow Horn) passed away peacefully on September 26, 2014. She was born on August 16, 1936 on the Pine Ridge Reservation to Jonas and Sarah (Walks Under Ground) Hollow Horn. She loved telling us stories about her time at the HolyRosaryMissionBoarding School and of her grandparents, John and Mary (Cedar Face) Hollow Horn. She loved teaching Lakota Language to her grandson, Jeremy Vu. She also enjoyed holding and going to garage sales and the bingo.

Gerry married James E. Jackson, Sr. in Hot Springs, SD on March 21, 1959.  They lived on Air Force bases in Nebraska, Japan, Canada, and Oklahoma before moving back to South Dakota in 1972. They both were involved with raising money for different charities. She was a member of the TREA Women's Auxiliary. Gerry was proud to be a foster parent and raised several grandchildren. She also enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren Lakota.

Gerry loved teaching her grandson Jeremy Vu the Lakota Language; she thought very highly of keeping the Lakota Language strong within her family. Gerry also attended many garage sales where she found her own treasures; not only attending garage sales she also held many sales of her own. Gerry also loved to go play BINGO; it was one of her favorite pastimes to take part in.
