Funeral services for Larry Joseph Steele, age 76, will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD, with Charles Mcgaa officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s CatholicCemetery in Rockyford, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rosary services starting at 8:00 PM.
Larry passed away on January 2, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.

Daughters Tricia Steele of Pine Ridge, SD and Clarissa Steele of Rapid City, SD

Larry was preceded in death by parents Frank Yellow Bird-Steele and Maime Palmier Yellow Bird-Steele.
Larry was born on August 8, 1938 at home in Rockyford, SD to Frank Yellow Bird-Steele and Mamie (Palmier) Steele. Larry was the third youngest of 14 children. He was a special man who survived a deadly car crash, which resulted in a brain injury that limited his capabilities.
Larry was briefly employed with the BIA Road Dept. before his accident, but enjoyed work with his hands and became a dependable ranch hand for many relatives in the Rockyford area. Larry also enjoyed working at Yellow Birds for many years.
Larry enjoyed every moment of his life and loved teasing and laughing with friends and relatives. He was a cowboy at heart and loved helping his friends and relatives. The highlights of his life were spending time with his children and grandchildren.
