Funeral services for Elton Larry Long Soldier, age 38, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oglala.
A two-night wake service will start at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Elton passed away at January 9, 2015 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Survivors include:
Father Verdell Long Soldier, Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD
Mother Louise Long Soldier of Oglala, SD
Brothers Clayton Warrior, Nolan Warrior, and Allen Long Soldier, all of Oglala, SD; and Verdell Long Soldier, Jr., Martin Long Soldier, and Marvin Long Soldier, all of Wanblee, SD
Sisters Priscilla Long Soldier, Marian Poor Bear, Ina Mae Espinosa, Fedelia (Robert) Cross, all of Oglala, SD; and Suzie Long Soldier of Wanblee, SD
Special Grandchildren: Keanna, Ethan, and Tyson Warrior, all of Oglala, SD
Godchild: Austin Starr of Oglala, SD
Elton was preceded in death by sisters Verlene Long Soldier and Eldean Blacksmith; brother Leon Long Soldier; aunts Rose White Magpie, Florita Pumpkin Seed, and Grace White; and uncles Pete Blacksmith, Sr., Kenneth Blacksmith, Eugene Long Soldier, Lloyd Long Soldier, Max Blacksmith, and Albert Joe Long Soldier.
