02/28/2015 - Zane Dickinson
A memorial service for Zane Dickinson, age 72, a former Chadron State College assistant professor, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chadron.
Dickinson served in Chadron State College’s English and Humanities department for more than 25 years. He died on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Rochester, MN.
His family is inviting friends and former students to say a few words about him during the service or to post memories on Facebook.
A memorial service has been planned at Chadron State College for Zane Dickinson, a former assistant professor in Chadron State College’s English and Humanities department for more than 25 years. Dickinson died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Rochester, Minn. He was 72.
Dickinson and his wife, LaVida, a longtime journalism instructor and adviser of the Eagle newspaper, were familiar and friendly faces to hundreds of students during their time at Chadron State. Both retired from CSC in 2009. The couple were living in Northfield, Minn., at the time of his death.
Dickinson was known for his down-to-earth approach to teaching. While at CSC, he taught technical writing and composition. He also served a period as CSC’s faculty development director, conducted the Teaching Analysis by Students program and served as campus chair for the Chadron State Foundation’s annual fund drive.
