Funeral services for Sandra K. Powell, age 55, of Chadron, NE will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Dr. Russ Seger officiating. Services will also be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings.
Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings.

Sandy passed away on March 22, 2015 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
She was born on March 29, 1959 in Hastings, Nebraska to Carroll and Beverly Powell. She grew up in Hastings, NE and graduated from AdamsCentralHigh School in 1977. She went on to receive an undergraduate degree from UNK and a Master’s from UNO in 2000.
Sandy married Bruce Hoffman on October 2, 1993, where they lived in Hastings and Juniata, NE. At that time, Sandra worked for the City of Hastings. In 2000, the couple relocated to Springfield, NE, where she was the City Administrator of Springfield. Sandra and Bruce then relocated to Chadron, NE in 2007, where Sandra became City Manager. In 2001, she started working at the Nebraska Northwestern Railroad as the Business Manager. In 2001, Sandra and Bruce opened a successful Bed and Breakfast called the Trunk Butte Ranch House.
Sandy served two terms as the President of the Hastings League Of Women Voters, as well as a member of the board of directors for the Nebraska League of Women Voters. She also served one term on the United States League of Women Voters. She was a member of the Nebraska Horse Council, as well as a volunteer for Ride the Ridge. There are a few personal attributes of many that she did in her 55 years of life.
She enjoyed crocheting, riding and working with horses. She also found enjoyment in motorcycle riding, as well as spending time with her family members.
Survivors include husband Bruce A. Hoffman of Chadron; parents Carroll “Mike” and Beverly Powell of Juniata, NE; father-in-law James R. Hoffman of Hastings, NE; brother Dennis and Mary Powell of Kennesaw, NE; sister Teresa Powell of Hastings, NE; four nieces, one nephew, two great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Sandy was preceded in death by mother-in-law Norma J. Hoffman.
