Memorial services for Dennis R. King, age 74, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Alliance with Pastor Tom Lucas officiating.
Inurnment will be at a later date at the Fairview Cemetery in Rushville, NE.
A memorial has been established. Donations may be made to Prairie Haven Hospice, the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department, or the donor’s choice.

Dennis passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home. He was born January 7, 1941 in Rushville, NE to Claud C. King and Addis W. ”Dee Dee” Cole King. He grew up on the family farm 10 miles northeast of Hay Springs, NE. He attended School District #14 and graduated from RushvilleHigh School in 1958. He was very active in 4-H, winning numerous awards and serving as 4-H King in 1959. He attended ColoradoStateUniversity for a year, transferring to NebraskaTrade School in Milford, NE, where he graduated with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning.
He was married to Leah Janelle Bayliss on November 10, 1963 in Rushville, NE.
He worked in the heating and air conditioning business for several years, in commercial and residential construction, and then as a plumber until his retirement from Tritle Plumbing in 2003.
When he was younger, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. His real joy in life was acquiring and working on older cars. His most prized project was a 1933 DeSoto convertible he was restoring into a street rod. Due to illness, he was unable to work on it anymore; however, he did get to take it for a drive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Jack, brother Tom, and several beloved dogs. He is survived by wife Leah, several nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.
