Funeral services for 84-year-old Oscar Jealous Of Him of Kyle, SD, will be at 11 am Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Our Lady Of Sorrows Catholic Hall in Kyle, SD, with Fr. Rick Abert, S.J. officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mr. Francis “Chubbs” Thunder Hawk.
Burial will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Cemetery in Kyle.
A two-night wake service will begin at 3 pm on Sunday, May 24, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Hall in Kyle.
Oscar Francis Jealous of Him, Sr. was born on January 27, 1931 in Pine Ridge, SD to Frank Jealous of Him, Sr. and Agnes (White Face) Jealous of Him. Oscar entered the Spirit World on May 18, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.
Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Florida (Young Bull Bear) Jealous of Him;
Daughters, Sharon (Reginald) Little Killer, Flora (Rick) Puckett, and Delores (Glenn) Puckett all of Kyle, SD and Lori (Bryan) Cuny of Allen, SD, April Adams of Kyle, SD, and Denise Wounded of Wanblee, SD;
Sons, Edwin Waters of Kyle, SD, Denver Wounded of Wanblee, SD, and Chris Jealous of Him of Orange County, CA;
Sister, Marlene Jealous of Him of Wounded Knee, SD.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Frank, Sr. and Agnes Jealous of Him; sons, Everette Jealous of Him, Sr., Frank Jealous of Him, Sr., Oscar Jealous of Him, Jr., and Duane Jealous of Him; brothers, Woodrow Jealous of Him and Louis Jealous of Him; sisters, Edith Scabby Face and Sophie Pumpkin Seed; and granddaughter, Yvonne Loafer.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements for Oscar Jealous of Him.
