Burial services for 56-year-old Richard “Rick” Lloyd Good Weasel, “Oyate Ho Nahunpi” (They Hear His Voice), of Oglala, SD, will be at 10 am on Sunday, May 24, at the Good Weasel Private Plot in Oglala, SD.

 

Lunch services will be held at 1 pm at the Prairie Wind Casino Hotel Conference Room.

 

Rick passed away on May 17, 2015, at Oglala, SD.

 

Rick grew up in Oglala, SD. He pitched baseball for 27 years.

Longest Walk- Class of ‘1977 of Todd County High School.

He worked for the Oglala Sioux Tribe from January 1998-May 1998,

Nebraska Beef Packers from 1981-1985, Gordon, Nebraska Public School from March 1985-June 1985, NYC Oglala from 1972-1973, and the National Forest Service in Custer, SD from June 1977- September 1977.

 

Survivors include:

Wife, Lisa Good Weasel of Oglala, SD

Sons, Tom Two Lance of Oglala, SD, Jordan Good Weasel of Rapid City, SD, and Tyson Good Weasel of Ft. Polk, Louisiana

Daughters, Keisha Good Weasel of Rapid City, SD, Emily Good Weasel of San Diego, CA, and Sadie Long of Belle Fourche, SD

Sister, Shirley Blackstone of Oglala, SD

Stepchildren, Bobby Little, Jeanette Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Jodi Rouillard, Laquetta Rouillard and Emmy Rouillard.

 

Rick was preceded in death by his parents; Seymour and Goldie Good Weasel and his grandson baby James.

 

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
