Memorial services for Mavis A. Gottwald, age 71, of Chadron, NE will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, NE with Pastor Teri Lucas officiating.
 
A private inurnment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish, SD at a later date.
 
Memorials have been established, and donations will be divided between nature and conservation charities. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Mavis passed away on June 1, 2015 at Chadron Community Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1943 in Faulton, SD to Huston and Marie (Lenhoff) Frasier. She was the 11th of 12 children. When Mavis was a young age, the family moved to Spearfish, SD, where she later graduated from high school in 1962. On June 2, 1962, she married Leo Gottwald in Spearfish, and they had four children.She retired in 2014, after 35 years of rural mail delivery out of the Chadron Post Office. 
 
She really enjoyed quilting, gardening, and nature, especially bird watching, having placed numerous bluebird houses around her mail route over the years.
 
Survivors include children Sheila (Dave) Rosno of Beatrice, NE, Patti (Rick) Wobig of Hemingford, NE, Leonard (Stephanie) Gottwald of Hastings, NE, and Pam Aguallo of Amherst, NE; grandchildren David (Kim) Wallin, Amanda (Andrew) Shepard, Matthew Wallin, Austin and Riley Wobig, Isabel Aguallo and Andrew and Benjamin Gottwald; great-grandchildren Katelynne and Rex Allen; brothers Duane, Robert, and Lyle Frasier; sisters Doris Myers, Margaret Gottwald, and Kathryn Tiensvold; special friend Nick Bogner and her children's father Leo Gottwald. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Melvin, Arnold, Jerold, and James Frasier; and sister Rosella Hirchert.
 
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Mavis A. Gottwald.
