Funeral services for Albert Paul Brave Sr., age 72, will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Pastor Roger Bissonette, Pastor Eric Sutton, and Pastor Leon Schwartz officiating.
Burial will be at the Brave-Good Lance Family Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Albert passed away on June 12, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.
Survivors include:
Sons Albert Brave Jr. of Pine Ridge, SD and Donald Brave Sr. of Oglala, SD
Daughters Mona Brave of Oglala, SD and Carol Lakota of Pine Ridge, SD
Sister Corrine Brave of Oglala, SD
Grandchildren Brooke, Jonathan, Cyrus, Dylan, Shannae, Albert III, Derek, JD, Kelly, Donald Jr., Jacob, and Kitana, all of Oglala, SD
Great-grandchildren Nahla, Mercedes, and Carter, all of Oglala, SD and numerous great-grandchildren
Daughters and sons who Albert helped raise and who were always there for him, including Lori Bagola, Dana Chase, Valerie Janis, Hilda Kills Small, Brandon Kills Small, Kerman Kills Small, Renny Good Lance, Quinn Kills Small, Marvin Brave Jr., Allen Brave, Jimmy Kills Small, and Rose Kills Small.
Albert was preceded in death by parents Gilbert Brave and Jeanette Comes From Among Them; brothers Sam Brave and Chauncey Lone Elk Sr.; sister Vera Good Lance; and daughter Brenda Brave.
