Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Thunder Hawk, age 68, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Jealous of Him-Thunder Hawk Tiyospaye Arbor in Porcupine, SD with Pastor Ken Trivette, Sister Sherri Trivette, and Reverend David Lays Bad. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Francis “Chubb” Thunder Hawk.
Burial will be at the Jealous of Him-Thunder Hawk Tiyospaye Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Jealous of Him-Thunder Hawk Tiyospaye Arbor.
Mary passed away on August 14, 2015 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Survivors include:
Daughters Ellen Day Boy and Susan Marcial of Salt Lake City, UT, Marla Day Boy of Pine Ridge, SD, and Bernadette Black Bear of New York, NY
Sisters Gladys Gay of Kyle, SD, Genevieve Thunder Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD, Vincentia Thunder Hawk and Bernadette Thunder Hawk of Porcupine, SD, and Francis “Chubb” Thunder Hawk of Porcupine, SD
Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Mary was preceded in death by parents Charles Thunder Hawk Sr. and Susie Jealous of Him; husband Malcolm Thunder Bull; son Timothy Albert Thunder Horse; and siblings Lillian Thunder Hawk, Martin “Buzzy” Thunder Hawk, Joseph Thunder Hawk, and an infant brother.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Mary Elizabeth Thunder Hawk.
