Funeral services for Maverick Means, age 53, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Allen CAP Office in Allen, SD with Reverend Rhoda Mesteth, Pastor Barry Bentley, and Pastor Shelly Bentley officiating.
Burial will be at Trinity Cemetery in Yellow Bear Canyon, Allen, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Allen CAP Office in Allen.
Maverick passed away on August 25, 2015 in Pine Ridge, SD.
Survivors include:
Daughters Heather Means and Leiha Means-Bear Killer of Allen, SD, Tashiana Luta Win Means of Spearfish, SD and Mia American Horse of Rapid City, SD
Adopted son Stephan Ashley of Kyle, SD
Sister Josephine White Crane of Potato Creek, SD
Five grandchildren
Special friend Yvette Marrowbone of Wounded Knee, SD
Maverick was preceded in death by parents Edward Means Sr. and Agnes (Ice-Two Two) Means; wife Linda (Thunder Bull) Means; daughter Annabelle Means; and siblings Lavena Glade, Martha DuBray, Veronica Means, Ruth Means, Betty Means, Carrie Fast Wolf, Wilson Means, Walter Means, Elvis Means, Edward Means Jr., and Wilbur Means.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements of Maverick Means.
