Funeral services for Margaret Slow Bear-Lone Elk, age 73, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ivan Starr.
Burial will be at the Lone Elk Family Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Margaret passed away on September 2, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.
Survivors include:
Sons Michael Slow Bear and Christopher Lone Elk of Oglala, SD
Daughter Marsha Lone Elk of Oglala, SD
Brothers Donny Slow Bear and Joe Eagle Star of Oglala, SD
Sisters Terry Rouillard, Kimberly Slow Bear, Betty Russell, Goldie Starr, and Lucy Little of Oglala, SD
Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Margaret was preceded in death by parents Martin Slow Bear and Jenny Eagle Star and husband Chauncey Lone Elk Sr.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Margaret Slow Bear-Lone Elk.
