Memorial services for Peggy Lou Shoop will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Hay Springs Cemetery with a dinner to follow at Mac’s Restaurant in Hay Springs.
Memorials can be made to Chadron Friends of Pets or the Hay Springs Public Library. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, PO Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

Peggy stepped from earth to heaven on September 11, 2015 at Chadron Community Hospital. She was born in Hay Springs, NE on July 23, 1931 to Harold and Ethel (Rush) Bork. She was educated in rural elementary schools near Hay Springs, graduated high school from Hay Springs High School in 1949, and attended one year at Chadron State College. She had one son, Jerry. Peggy was briefly married to Elmer Jay Shoop.
Peggy moved to Alliance, NE and worked mostly in cleaning services. She worked for many years at the Drake Hotel and Bowl More Lanes. She loved her family, friends, dogs, and reading.
She is survived by son Jerry (Mary) Shoop of Bruns Flats, OK; grandchildren Jason of Burns Flats, OK, Michael (Erin) of Smithville, OH, Justin (Jeannie) of Zwolle, LA, and Marta of Bessie, OK; great-grandchildren Gabriel, Evin, Abby, Kiyah, and Paige; sister-in-law Margaret Bork of Hay Springs, NE; nieces Jean Grant of Arlington, TX, Susan (Brad) Sauder of Hay Springs, NE, Donna (Richard) McKay of Hay Springs, NE, and Nancy (Greg) Hill of Denver, CO; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by parents Harold and Ethel (Rush) Bork, brother Norman Bork, stepfather Chris Johnson, infant grandson (Jarod), and special companion John Fortner.
We will all miss her laugh and her smile.
