Memorial services for Jerry Eugene Horn of Chadron, NE will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron, NE with Father Tim Stoner officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Rosehill Cemetery in Marshalltown, IA.
A rosary will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Jerry was born on a farm near Moulton, IA on October 30, 1938 to Glenn and Erma (Beach) Horn. He attended Laurel Elementary and Aaron Palmer Elementary until he went to Central Junior High and Marshalltown High School, graduating in 1957.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1958 and was discharged in 1962. He then married Cathy Diller in Marshalltown. He joined the U.S. Weather Service in 1966 and worked there until his retirement in 1996. His position took him to New Mexico, North Dakota, Northwest Territory Canada (JAWS), Minnesota, Nebraska, and Texas in his 32 years with the U.S. Government.
He spent his retirement in North Platte, NE and Chadron, NE, where he enjoyed his model trains, golf, and walking his three dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Cathy in 1992. He is survived by son Scott, daughter Tamra, wife Mary Allberry-Horn, five grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.
