Graveside services for Donald “Donny” Mills, age 81, of Hay Springs, NE will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Hay Springs Catholic Cemetery with Pastor Darrel Knote officiating.

A memorial has been established. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary, PO Box 443, Hay Springs, NE 69347.

Donny passed away on September 21, 2015 at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs. He was born on August 24, 1934 in Alliance, NE to LeRoy and Jessie (Green) Mills.

Don lived most of his life in and around the Hay Springs area of Sheridan County, NE, except for a short period of time in Casper, WY. He grew up in Hay Springs and attended Hay Springs schools. He worked with his father in the family business and later worked with Delmer Walgren in his soft drink distributorship in the Hay Springs area.

Don was well-known in Hay Springs, and he enjoyed visiting with numerous friends and family. Reading the Bible and other religious materials was his greatest past time. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting friends at the Hay Springs Senior Center, and especially riding in his brother’s car to see the sights around the area.

Don obeyed the Gospel in about 1978 and was immersed for the remission of his sins. He worshipped with the Church of Christ in Chadron.

Parkview Assisted Living in Rushville was Don’s residence for the past few years until his failing health required care at Pioneer Manor in Hay Springs.

Chamberlain Drabbels Mortuary is in charge of arrangements for Donald “Donny” Mills.
