A Mass of Christian Burial for Jonathan James Slow Bear, age 32, will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Oglala Re-Creation Center in Oglala, SD with Pastor Leon Schwartz officiating.
Burial will be the Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the OglalaRe-Creation Center in Oglala.
Jonathan passed away on September 23, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.
Survivors include:
Brother Eric Slow Bear of Salt Lake City, UT
Sister Kiyani Slow Bear of Rapid City, SD
Aunt Rochelle Running Horse of Pine Ridge, SD
Uncles Dane and Gavin Running Horse of Rapid City, SD
Jonathan was preceded in death by parents Clyde Bear Nose and Mary Sue Slow Bear, grandmother Nellie Slow Bear, and special aunt who raised him Annette Slow Bear.
J.J. went to school at WolfCreekElementary School and graduated from PineRidgeHigh School. He worked at the Jumping Eagle Inn for some odd years and also worked at Big Bats. J.J. then moved to Rapid City, where he worked at Wendy’s Restaurant and then landed a roofing job in Rapid City, where he was currently employed. J.J. was a very caring and happy person toward everyone, and many bros he considered family.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Jonathan James Slow Bear.
