Midge passed away on October 12, 2015 at the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford, NE. She was born on September 10, 1931 in Whitney, NE to David (Scotty) & Naomi Rankin in Whitney, NE at the home in which the family lived for 55 years. She was raised in Whitney where she attended primary school and then attended Crawford High School, graduating in 1949.
On May 6, 1950, she married Arthur Ladd Anderson at the Whitney United Methodist Church. The couple originally made their home in Chadron, NE where Ladd went to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. Following the railroad, they lived in Douglas and Casper, WY, eventually returning to Crawford in 1967. Together Midge and Ladd had five children—four girls and one boy.
After being widowed in 1986, Midge met and married Elmo Mosher on December 31, 1988. During the five short years they had together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
Midge worked in the medical profession all of her adult life, originally as a Dental Assistant and then at Natrona County Hospital in Wyoming. After returning to Crawford in 1967, she went to work at the Crawford Hospital until her retirement in 1993. Midge started in central supply and eventually worked in the Lab, learned to do X-rays, became a surgical assistant, worked OB and Delivery. There wasn’t a job she wouldn’t do if needed. Upon retirement, she held the position of Administrator at the Crawford Hospital.
Midge enjoyed such pastimes as reading, fishing, bowling, gardening, golfing & quilting, but her true devotion in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. Even though she worked very hard, she was always there and very proud her family.
Midge is survived by children Ladell (Kim) Earney of Whitney, Barbara (Alan) Connell of Crawford, Timothy (Rita) Anderson of Gering, Heather (Fay) Hughes of Crawford, and Nina Anderson of Ottawa, KS; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother Robert (Ernie) Rankin of Longwood, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents Scotty and Naomi Rankin; brothers David and Sandy Rankin; husbands Arthur Ladd Anderson and Elmo Mosher; and grandson Tyrell Ladd Anderson.
