Funeral services for Jeanelle Grant, age 93, of Chadron, NE will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Chadron with Reverend Mark Crist officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron.

A memorial has been established for the American Legion Auxiliary or the United Methodist Church. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.

Jeanelle passed away at Crestview Care Center with her family by her side on November 10, 2015. She was born on October 26, 1922 in Oakdale, NE to Ross and Martha Ofe. She was the youngest of 6 children. She graduated from Chadron Prep School in 1938 and went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Chadron State College. In 1949 she married Ralph Grant, and into this union, 3 boys were born. Jeanelle worked over 40 years in education as a teacher, principal and reading specialist. She loved following her boys and grandchildren in all of their activities. She also enjoyed participating in Chadron Prep activities, American Legion Auxiliary activities, and also church activities with the United Methodist Church.

Jeanelle is survived by sons Ron (Cheri) Grant from Chadron, Dale (Cherri) Grant from Chadron and Ted Grant (fiancé Eva Gallant) from Hurst, TX; grandchildren Sara Grant and Seth Grant, Billie (Aaron) Knifong, Crissy (Justin) Wolff, Traci Grant, and Tyler Grant (fiancé Angela); and great-grandchildren Parker, Grant, and Max Wellnitz, Jackson, Jace, and Carly Knifong, and Kyler and Laney Wolff.

Jeanelle was preceded in death by parents Ross and Martha Ofe, husband Ralph Grant, sisters Verna Tuma, Lucille Preble, Frances Connell and Nina Patterson, brother Harold Ofe, and an infant daughter.
