A memorial service for Lila Lee Edwards Evans will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Prairie Pines in Chadron, NE with Pastor Scott Montgomery officiating.

Lila was born on November 29, 1925 at Baileyville, KS to Allen Franklin Edwards and Sarah Janet Kelly Edwards. She moved to Burwell, NE in 1934. She graduated from Burwell High School in 1943. Lila worked for Western Union after graduation until 1946. She then went to work for four years for the county of Scottsbluff in the welfare department. In 1958, she began working for the Gering City Schools as the secretary for the principal at Gering High School. She remained there until she retired in 1990, a total of 32 years.
On August 18, 1946, Lila married Wade Evans. To this union, three children were born: Diane, Monte, and Kelly.
Lila is survived by daughter Diane (Dana) Fuller; son Monte (Kathy) Evans; grandchildren Eric (Joette) Fuller, Michelle (Pete) Glassbrenner, Sarah (Josh) Christiansen, Lindsay Evans, and Luke (Amanda) Evans; great-grandchildren Micaiah, Makinley, and Jentsyn Fuller, Carson and Kendall Glassbrenner, and Averianna and Jakoby Christian; and loving nieces and nephews.
Lilia was preceded in death by son Kelly Evans; two stillborn babies; her parents; brothers Donald, Gail, Merl, Robert, Leonard, and Paul; sister Beth Vasicek; nephews Billy and Mark; and niece Vicki.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Lila Lee Edwards Evans.
