Funeral services for Russell Lawson Iron Hawk Sr., age 87, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with Pastor Joseph Story officiating.
Burial will be at #9 Community Cemetery in Manderson, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD.
Russell passed away on November 28, 2015 in Rapid City, SD. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Russell was born on May 5, 1928 in Grass Creek, SD to Louis and Jessie (Ice) Iron Hawk. He entered the Spirit World on November 28, 2015 in Rapid City, SD.
Russell is survived by sons Gaylord Iron Hawk and Myron Iron Hawk, both of Wounded Knee, SD and Lawson Iron Hawk Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD; daughters Carmelita Iron Crow and Geraldine Charging Crow, both of Kyle, SD; 58 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by parents Louis and Jessie Iron Hawk; spouses Jane (Janis) Iron Hawk and Agnes (Red Breath Bear) Iron Hawk; daughters Katherine (Iron Hawk) Belile and Charlene Iron Hawk; son Michael Iron Hawk; and sister Claudia (Iron Hawk) Sully.
