Funeral services for Marty Dean Lone Elk, age 50, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Richard Broken Nose.
Burial will be in Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala.
Marty passed away on November 30, 2015 in Oglala. He was a veteran in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include:
Son Emilio Lone Elk of Denver, CO
Daughter Amanda Conquering Bear of Denver, CO
Brother Luke “Eugene” White Stone of Pine Ridge, SD
Numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and grandchildren of Chadron Junction in Oglala, SD
Marty was preceded in death by parents Jim and Mae Lone Elk; brothers Elmer, Todd, Peter, Verdell, Antone and Lawrence Lone Elk; sisters Fannie and Alvina Lone Elk; and best friends Curtis Two Bulls, Olen Bad Heart Bull and Valerie Brings Yellow.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Marty Dean Lone Elk.
