12/07/2015 - Henry (Hank) Tuttle
Funeral services for Henry “Hank” Joseph Tuttle “Numpa Ka’winge,” age 69, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Porcupine School Gymnasium in Porcupine, SD with Father Chris Johnson S.J. and Father Peter Klink S.J. officiating.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Porcupine School Gymnasium.
Henry passed away on November 30, 2015 in Porcupine, SD.
Hank was born on August 5, 1946 to David and Lillian (Iron Cloud) Tuttle at Porcupine, SD. Henry “Hank” was the second born of seven children.
Hank attended school at Our Lady of Lourdes and graduated from Holy Rosary Mission (Red Cloud). After high school, he enrolled at Haskell Institute where he received a certificate of completion in carpentry. He also attended Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. He worked for the Oglala Sioux Tribe in the Department of Natural Resources for many years and retired in 2010.
Hank is survived by son Shannon Tuttle of Watertown, SD; daughters Tonya Tuttle of Wagner, SD and Pamela Black Feather of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Donna Eagle Bull and Beverly Tuttle of Porcupine, SD, and Irene Tuttle of Pine Ridge, SD; hunka brother Dave Archambault of Fort Yates, ND; grandchildren Jordan Tuttle, Christian Hart, Davante Ross, Tabatha Ross, Patricia Black Feather, and Sam Black Feather; and great-grandson Kingston Hart.
Hank was preceded in death by parents David & Lillian (Iron Cloud) Tuttle; son David Tuttle; brothers Bill Tuttle, Everette Tuttle, and Harold Tuttle; nephews Gerard Eagle Bull and Elijah Jackson; and niece Cinnamon Jade Twiss.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Henry “Hank” Joseph Tuttle “Numpa Ka’winge.”
