Funeral services for Karen Mae Morton “Wacape Wiyakpe Win,” age 59, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Christ Church in Red Shirt Table, SD with Reverend Robert Two Bulls officiating.
Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Junior Garcia at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Pine Ridge High School Gymnasium.
Burial will be at the Christ Church Episcopal Cemetery in Red Shirt Table, SD.
Viewing services will be from 9:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Pine Ridge High School Gymnasium.
Karen was born on January 17, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Paul and Edith (Red Shirt) Cedar Face. Karen passed away on December 28, 2015 at the Rapid CityRegionalHospital in Rapid City, SD.
Karen is survived by sons Cody (Cedar) Morton of Garnerville, NV and Casey (Hugh) Morton of Pine Ridge, SD; daughters Roxeine Morton and Breyauni Morton of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Paul Cedar Face and Fredrick Cedar Face of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Clara Cedar Face of Albuquerque, NM, and Frances Cedar Face and Mary Cedar Face of Pine Ridge, SD; and grandchildren Shaniah, Shaylene, Shyleigh, Marvin Richard III, Tommy, Tamaya, Teylauni, and Takoda Morton and Koty LeBeau-Janis.
Karen was preceded in death by parents Paul and Edith; husband Tom Morton; daughter Tiffany Morton; and brothers Edward and Charles Cedar Face.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Karen Mae Morton “Wacape Wiyakpe Win.”
