Funeral services for Lydia Red Elk, age 65, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the CrazyHorseSchool in Wanblee, SD with Reverend Harold Eagle Bull, Rita Brown, and Johnny Wilson officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Richard Moves Camp.
Burial will be at the Episcopal Church Cemetery in Wanblee, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 5:30 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the CrazyHorseSchool in Wanblee, SD.
Lydia was born on June 7, 1950 in Pine Ridge, SD to Steven Red Elk and Vivian White Hat. She passed away on January 5, 2016 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City, SD.
Lydia is survived by son Marlon White Thunder Sr.; daughter Charlene White Feather; grandchildren Josie White Feather, Jolene White Feather, Stephen Bettelyoun, Lyric White Feather, Marlon White Feather Jr., and Halley White Feather of Wanblee, SD; and great-granddaughter Kassani White Feather of Wanblee, SD.
Lydia was preceded in death by parents Steven Red Elk and Vivian White Hat; significant other Larry White Feather; brothers Roger Red Elk and Harlan Red Elk; and sons Douglas White Feather and Noah White Feather.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Lydia Red Elk.
