Funeral services for Marilyn Faye Zephier “Ta Sina To Win” (Blue Shawl Woman), age 61, will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Little Wound School Gym in Kyle, SD with Father Rick Abert S.J. and Reverend Harold Eagle Bull officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Steve DuBray.
Burial will be at St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Little Wound School Gym in Kyle, SD.
Marilyn was born on July 18, 1954 in Pine Ridge, SD to Acey Sr. and Yvonne (Rooks) Loafer. She passed away on January 11, 2016 at the PineRidgeI.H.S.Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Marilyn is survived by spouse Perry Zephier of Kyle, SD; son Jason (Gayla) Loafer of Kyle, SD; daughters Vanessa (Corbin) Romero, Amber (Hermus) Bettelyoun, and Alicia (Travis) Janis of Kyle, SD; brothers Acey Loafer Jr. of Rapid City, SD and Ben (Melody) Loafer of Kyle, SD; sister Roberta Wounded Head of Martin, SD; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Marilyn was preceded in death by son Percy Zephier; parents Acey Sr. and Yvonne Loafer; sisters Marie and Joyce Loafer; and brother Bill Loafer.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Marilyn Faye Zephier “Ta Sina To Win” (Blue Shawl Woman).
