Memorial services for Terry Lynn Frye, age 66, of Chadron, NE will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron, NE with Pastor Aaron Sprock officiating.

Terry passed away unexpectedly on January 15, 2016 at his home in Chadron. He was born on August 4, 1949 in Chadron to Rueben and Mary Ellen (Canaday) Frye.
In his early years he lived and attended school in Wyoming. As a young boy he was taught the skills of fishing, hunting and trapping by his dad. These were passions he carried throughout his life and passed onto his children and grandchildren. He told many stories of his unique pets that he had as a young boy.
Terry and his family moved back to Nebraska in 1964. Terry graduated from Chadron High School in 1967. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1970, where he served 18 1/2 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Earth Science in 1973 from Chadron State College.
Terry met the love of his life, Penny Fowler, and they were joined in marriage on September 29, 1978. This marriage brought them four beautiful children: Jeannie, Brittany, Amanda, and Travis.
Terry was dedicated to his career as a mechanic/Electrical Technician at Wahlstrom Ford. He spent more than 30 years with Wahlstrom’s before retiring in February 2013. He took pride in his work, as he did with his customers. He was known to always help a person out, never turning them away.
Terry had a great love and passion for his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, grilling, roasting marshmallows, fishing, having picnics at Chadron State Park, and sitting on his back patio watching his grandchildren. He was a devoted Husker Fan, with a great sense of humor that included many stories, jokes, and tricks.
Terry is survived by wife Penny; daughters Jeannie (Matthew) Thompson of Edgemont, SD, Brittany (Neal) Kugler of Chadron, NE, and Amanda (Alex) Letcher of Hay Springs, NE; son Travis Frye of Chadron, NE; grandchildren Terra (Clayton) Serres, Katie, Zachary, and Corinne Thompson, and Brooklyn and Avery Kugler; sister Sandy (Rodney) Ingwersen; brother Dan (Connie) Frye; and uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by mother Mary Ellen Frye, father Rueben Robert Frye, and his grandparents.
Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements for Terry Lynn Frye.
