01/23/2016 - Val High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian Sr.
Funeral services for Val Ellis High Hawk-Kills Crow Indian Sr., age 57, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD.
Burial will be at the Native American Church Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night starting at 4:30 PM on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD. The second night will start at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD.
Val was born on May 24, 1959 in Iliff, CO to Aloysius High Hawk Sr. and Julia (Bird Head) High Hawk. He passed away on January 18, 2016 at the River View Health Care Center in Flandreau, SD.
Val is survived by son Val High Hawk III of Oglala, SD; daughters Valaria High Hawk, Natasha High Hawk, Rolanda High Hawk, and Troylynn High Hawk, all of Oglala, SD; brother Aloysius High Hawk Jr. of Porcupine, SD; sisters Virginia Kills Crow Indian, Rosemarie Thunder Hawk, and Helen Kills Crow Indian, all of Porcupine, SD; and 12 grandchildren.
Val was preceded in death by parents Aloysius High Hawk Sr. and Julia High Hawk; son Val High Hawk Jr.; brothers Larry Kills Crow Indian, Mitchell Glenn Kills Crow Indian, Troy Kills Crow Indian, and George Kills Crow Indian; sister Alberta Kills Crow Indian; and grandchild Sonny Brooke High Hawk.
