Funeral services for Carolyn Marie Hunter, age 77, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Hall in Kyle, SD with Father Rick Abert officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Rick Two Dogs.
Burial will be at the Sidney Hunter Family Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Hall in Kyle, SD.
Carolyn was born on July 22, 1938 in Kyle, SD to Frank Packed and Minnie Charging Crow. She passed away on January 16, 2016 at the Bennett County Nursing Home in Martin, SD.
Carolyn is survived by sons Harold Hunter of Kyle, SD and Ward Hunter of Ramah, NM; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Carolyn was preceded in death by parents Frank Packed and Minnie Charging Crow; husband Sidney Hunter; daughter Tamera Hunter; brothers Joseph Chief Bear and Riley Packed; sisters Irene Young Bull Bear, Grace Parks, and Sarah Packed; and grandsons Steven Hunter and Larry Romero III.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Carolyn Marie Hunter.
