01/30/2016 - JoDon Shangreaux Running Thunder
Funeral services for JoDon Wayne Shangreaux “Wakinyan Iyanka” (Running Thunder), age 26, will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Little Wound School Small Gymnasium in Kyle, SD with Father Rick Abert, S.J. officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Jerome LeBeaux.
Burial will be at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night starting at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD. The second night will start at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Little Wound School Small Gymnasium in Kyle, SD.
JoDon was born on December 30, 1989 in Gordon, NE to Leland Shangreaux and Charlene Janis. He passed away on January 19, 2016 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
JoDon is survived by mother Charlene K. Janis of Kyle, SD; father Leland “Joe” Shangreaux of Kyle, SD; brothers Robert Janis, Brendon Janis, and Cameron Janis, all of Kyle, SD; sisters Kristy (Jeremy) Pourier of Thunder Valley, SD, Contessia Shangreaux and Latina (Catlin) Shangreaux of Kyle, SD, Tashina (Jason) Shangreaux of Rapid City, SD, and Shyloe Shangreaux and Natasha Shangreaux; grandmothers Lenora Watters and Anita “Penny” Janis of Pine Ridge, SD, and Aqualynne Garnette of Kyle, SD; and grandfathers Wilbur Witt, Donovan Shangreaux, and Baptist “Bat” Shangreaux, all of Kyle, SD, and Corbin Shangreaux of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for JoDon Wayne Shangreaux “Wakinyan Iyanka” (Running Thunder).
